Forget some of the old, learn something new!
There are some beliefs you carry in your life that are underlying the person you are. Sometimes these beliefs are positive beliefs. Sometimes these beliefs are religious beliefs. Some of these beliefs are based on life style desires. Some of these beliefs are fixated on quality of life. Sometimes these beliefs are superstitions. Sometimes these beliefs are generalisations. And you have carried these beliefs as if they make the world of difference to the world. In your mind these things are truely important.
Take apart your thinking. Write them down if you are more inclined to see things better when they appear on paper.
Which of these beliefs are you so attached to that without it life would have no meaning? Which of these beliefs make life actually so easy to go by and on the other hand, which beliefs seem to always alter your life and take it off on a tangent that is uncomfortable?
I suggest to you to change your situation for just a day, and take on a belief you believe in and put it on a shelf on hold for a few minutes. If you do this, which belief would you pick? It is really scary for some people to remove themselves from their comfort zone. Sometimes beliefs are what we are imprisoned by, even if these beliefs hurt us, these are beliefs that make us feel like who we are and changing these things are almost impossible. But if you were to just do it for an hour today, just one hour, how hard would that be?
Putting aside a mindset for an hour will be more difficult than anyone will ever imagine. And in order to do this you will need to fill that space in your heart and mind with something else. I suggest you go to a library, or a busy station, or a coffee place and sit down and look around you. Not judging, just looking. If going outside is not what you want to do, then take that laptop that you like to spend time on and log onto the library website and sign out an audio book which you can just plug into your ears so that another brilliant idea can deliver itself into your mind and you will be entertained. Pick a genre you would never pick. Or watch a video on TED.COM.
One hour. How much will you be changed by this hour? You will be branded by a fresh new searing desire to be this silent student who is engaging in a vacation, and adventure, a departure from your usual self for a few precious minutes a day! Your experience should not be just for one day, do it again the next day and the next! Make it a purpose in your life to do this because you must and this purpose will change your life and free you from beliefs that make no sense. Beliefs that are out dated and beliefs that make you small.
